I put it down and finally returned to it when I had some time to commit to it. It is a tough read, but the writing was, as you say, beautiful and the themes were rich and deep. Lots of thought to chew on.

Omg do you mean i have to go back and finish blindness? I thought the writing was beautiful, but it made me want to kill myself - too depressing - i put it down thinking I would get back to it later but just never did.

On a less depressing note, just finishing the Piano Shop on the Left Bank which you should read...fantastic book all about the history of the piano.
