Heaven (or, How Much History Can You Take?)

Mar 04 2007 Published by under General

Yesterday I went to my parents, plugged in my computer from undergrad, and copied all media files to an external hd. Most of this stuff I haven’t seen/heard in 3 years.

Talk about a memory trip.

I absorbed too many old photos and too many songs that provided the soundtrack to four years of my life. Is there a period in life where change happens as quickly and completely as it does the early 20′s?

Question – is it healthy to dig into old chat logs? :)

Investing in Anxiety

Investing in anxiety. I’ve been doing it a lot lately. And this week, I heard a great line that captures the value of the practice:

“A short-term investment in anxiety creates long-term returns of clarity.”

Having somewhat difficult discussions upfront decreases uncertainty and ambiguity, creating a future free of greater anxiety levels. While this applies to all aspects of life, I’ve been increasingly practicing the tactic in business to great results.

People invest in a lot of things, but are you a short-term investor in anxiety?
