A chapter in the story of me (via Fred):

“I went through a period where I wrote about YouTube a lot. It was fascinating to me to watch web video take off and the lessons we all learned from YouTube’s success were important. After YouTube was purchased by Google, I kind of lost interest. I felt like that story had played out to its logical conclusion and it was time to look elsewhere for lessons to learn.” [all emphasis mine]

I’m curious. So I observe. And then I question.

It’s how I learn and understand. It enables me to collect dots.

Dots? Yes. Lessons learned. Dots. I find reward in amassing dots and connecting them. The more dots, the further I can see.

That’s why I’m hungry for lessons to be learned. And once they’re learned it’s also why I move on. Quickly. Because there are so many lessons to learn.

Looking for Lessons.

Welcome to the conversation.

Hi, I'm Fraser and this is my personal site where I write about the things I'm interested in: start-up strategy, the web, music, and life.

My days are spent commercializing emerging technologies. Currently I'm helping to deliver the promise of semantic web to the consumer market at AdaptiveBlue. Previously I was at Trivaris, a Canadian seed stage investment firm.

I am a co-founder of Innovation Night, a community driven event supporting entrepreneurship in Canadian and US cities.

Here's what I'm doing right now:
