Who Makes You Think?

Who makes you think? Who challenges your thoughts and assumptions, twisting and elevating your understanding of concepts?

I want to know.

My two favourite reads, Umair and Chartreuse, have both recently gone MIA (one, mysteriously, went “back to not existing“).

I’m in desperate need of new thinkers who like the hemmoraging-edge.

Here’s what I’m asking - share a link, in the comments or email, to someone who makes you think; who pushes you forward.

Ackoff is hard to beat. Anybody that works with systems theory beyond management seems like a safe bet.

Will Wright incorporates a lot of systems theory in his work and talks. His talks are really the only good source of what he knows and has to share and unfortunately they're hard to get your hands on. I have most of them though, including slides.

Richard Dawkins actually too. Hell, a lot of the people that spoke at TED: http://www.ted.com/tedtalks/

I miss Umair too, he's one of my business heroes. The other hero is Carmine Coyote of Slow Leadership.

But who makes me think, really think... I guess I must say Hugh MacLeod from Gaping Void.

Unless you allow german podcasts to compete. :-) In this case, I must say Braincast from Arvid Leyh.

There I learned, for example, that our brains have so many feedback loops with the body that the merely smiling can improve your mood. Something folklorical knowledge from a scientific point of view.

I do like Evslin, Candace, and read him often up until a year ago.... but for whatever reason I stopped. Maybe too verbose?

I miss Chartreuse as well.

I have always liked the personal blog of a web start-up guy from down here in Australia. It's not Prince Campbell but it is fun and written by someone deep in the trenches of web 2.0 who does make me think.
