Released in 2005, I didn’t discover The Magic Numbers’ self titled debut album until early January 2006, making it eligible for songs of the year.

While one of many British bands to fill my ears over the past two years, The Magic Numberssound different from the traditional British-indie sound that I love. A bit softer, a bit more mellow, but every bit as enjoyable.

Two pairs of brothers and sisters, The Magic Numbers acheived critical success in the UK in 2005 when they were short-listed for the Mercury Prize.

Their debut album is worth picking up for any number of tracks but I’ve continued to love two - Forever Lost, the lead single from the album, is great; however, I See You, You See Me oozes authentic emotion and is my 9th favourite track of the year. Enjoy.
