The past week has been enjoyably busy and filled with lots of great new music.

Here’s what I’ve discovered:

Ben Kweller is incredible, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a song that I enjoy, and John Legend is filled with soulful goodness.

1) Ben Kweller - Penny on the Track: I’ve been getting into Ben Kweller lately in a very big way. His new self-titled album is fantastic. If you haven’t listened to any of his work you’re missing out on a talented musician and an incredible song writer. Penny on the Track and Run are my favourite songs on the new album but so many songs stand up.

2) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Phenomena: The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are maybe the band most recommended to me that I have a difficult time getting into. Recently I picked up a Sirius subscription and when this song came on channel 26 (a fantastic indie/alternative music channel) I loved it. I’m still struggling to enjoy the rest of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs catalogue, but this is a really strong song.

3) John Legend - Save Room: Another great song discovered via Sirius. John Legend’s first album remains one of my favourite soul albums. Save Room is the lead single for his second album and if some of the lyrics of the song don’t hit you hard, well, I feel sorry for what you have yet to discover (”love hurts some time when you do it right”).

As always, grab the podcast or listen below (remember, hit the arrow in the corner to have the player pop-out while you surf the net).
