Music of the Moment - My Eclectic Tastes

September 28th, 2006

I’ve always enjoyed a diverse mix of music. From the first (and last) tape I bought (Nirvana Unplugged) to the first CD I purchased (Genius/Gza Liquid Swords) to my most recent download (Ben Kweller - Run).

Here’s a sample to enjoy.

1) Stars - One More Night (Your Ex-Lover Remains Dead). Quite possibly my favourite song of the past year.

2) Ryan Adams - So Alive. Probably my favourite song on an album that played constantly during my final year in university.

3) N.E.R.D. - She Likes To Move. A live version of a fun song. Surprisingly there are a lot of good tracks on the album.

4) MC Paul Barman - I’m Fricking Awesome. Self-proclaimed nerdrap star and graduate from Brown who listed Prince Paul and MF Doom as producers. Fantastic.

5) I love Mike Skinner. His music is refreshing, original, honest, and authentic. This remix over Bloc Party’s Banquet captures everything good about The Streets.
