Brilliant. 

I can think of examples where I've been in a position where I felt that I couldn't afford for something to suck and it has skewed my response/reaction.

Probably happens way too frequently in business as well.</description>

Then they have the feeling they have discovered you. That also gives them a sense of ownership. . . . They have a vested part of your success then. They can't afford for you to suck.</description>
