Just over* two years ago I graduated from school, packed my bags and headed off to see the world.

I saw it all….. in a single week.

In Vegas :)

It was a wild and crazy week with some good buddies. The trip ended with a shot of tequila and a splitting of jacks before we headed to the airport (and that was the soft landing).

A day after I returned home I started working.

Time has flown by and a few weeks ago I found some time to reflect on the past two years. I was amazed with what I’ve learned, what I’ve discovered, and the growth that I’ve experienced.

I’m going to share some of what I’ve learned in the coming days.

I also asked certain people to share a few thoughts of their own - to help mark the occasion. In the coming days I’m going to share the wisdom of some incredible people - young entrepreneurs, successfull businessmen, friends, VCs, … they all shared a paragraph or two on “the biggest thing I’ve learned after a few years of working” or, “what I know now that I wish I knew after a few years of working.” Each piece of advice is interestingly wise.

Share anything you’d like over the coming days and enjoy the advice.

*I missed the two year mark by a bit because: (1) I ate a really bad mussel that seriously took me out of commission for a bit; and, (2) I was busy running the Mississauga 1/2 Marathon. My chip time was 1:28 - a new pb!

2 Years Out

Welcome to the conversation.

Hi, I'm Fraser and this is my personal site where I write about the things I'm interested in: start-up strategy, the web, music, and life.

My days are spent commercializing emerging technologies. Currently I'm helping to deliver the promise of semantic web to the consumer market at AdaptiveBlue. Previously I was at Trivaris, a Canadian seed stage investment firm.

I am a co-founder of Innovation Night, a community driven event supporting entrepreneurship in Canadian and US cities.

Here's what I'm doing right now:
