I’m guilty of taking too long with the Songs of the Year posts. I didn’t think it out in advance, and I’m having one hell of a time narrowing my favourite songs of the year down to 10.
In mid July my friend Justin sent me a link to a site, blocparty.com, and I went expecting a site dedicated to huge block parties. I expected to see pimped out BBQs but I got a site with sample mp3s of a band that would beecome one of my favourite new bands of the past few years.
It’s Fred’s album of the year. Everyone that I’ve recommended Bloc Party to have loved them.
They released a remixed version of their album which is helping tide me over (I recommend Luno remixed by Death From Above 1979) but I can’t wait for their follow up album.
